Overview

Odíhg Kàiē̼j̼umù was founded durring the late 15th century in fall of the year 1364, by Rancata Fluellen. The establishment of Odíhg Kàiē̼j̼umù suffered from several major issues, resulting in the need to develop many solutions to basic problems. Problems such as a lack of fresh water, logistical support, poor quality tools, and the odd monster or two. Howeaver, these were overcome in time.

Odíhg Kàiē̼j̼umù was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the late 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Odíhg Kàiē̼j̼umù is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature delicute timber framework hidden behind layer upon layer of finly ground plaster bleached to an almost glossy white sheen, with green clay tiled roofs and decorative brass-leafed trim. Even the smallest, poorest looking structures appear to be expencive thanks to the extreem elegence of the organic shapes and paterns going into their lofty, spire-y, vagly gothic designs. The more well off folks live in identicle homes, save for even shiner trim and a more whimsical appearance to their structures flowing forms.

Odíhg Kàiē̼j̼umù is is constructed arround a series of restrictive paverstone mainstreets which form concentric circles, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to each other at varrious points. The town lacks any defencive features, though certainly constructing even a simple fence or digging a ditch is at the forefront of the 's mind. At least, one would hope so.

Odíhg Kàiē̼j̼umù has a very calm atmosphere. People can be seen relaxing, scocilizing, and going about all manner of business other than the daily grind. Men, women, children, all can be seen enjoying life in a laid-back way in the many parks which line Odíhg Kàiē̼j̼umù’s streets.

Cultural Notes

Odíhg Kàiē̼j̼umù's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known primarily for its use of abstraction and simplicity. Clean lines, right angles, and primary colors characterized this aesthetic and art movement expressed via architecture and paintings. Its design ethos allows only primary colors and non-colors, only squares and rectangles, only straight and horizontal or vertical lines. Vertical and horizontal lines are positioned in layers or planes that do not intersect, thereby allowing each element to exist independently and unobstructed by other elements. These seemingly impossible principals for an architectural style coalesces into structures which most experts find hard to put into words. It is not that their geometry is impossible, but rather the style's attempt at producing works only describable visually was most successful..

Due to the actions of local Kami, spring is recurring in Odíhg Kàiē̼j̼umù.

The Dlurgraven near Odíhg Kàiē̼j̼umù are known to be almost tame, such that they can be put to domestic use.

Odíhg Kàiē̼j̼umù's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves creating small tokens to channel Truename Magic energies of tier 2 via recitation of poetic epics.

History

Almost every community has some problem with bandits and highwaymen, but Odíhg Kàiē̼j̼umù is seriously plagued with raiders. One or more groups of persistent plunderers are hitting the community repeatedly, and they lack the necessary resources to fend them off or protect all their holdings.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, Odíhg Kàiē̼j̼umù was attacked by a renegade group of the army. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Odíhg Kàiē̼j̼umù lost 221 people, 225 livestock, and 80 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 188, when members of Odíhg Kàiē̼j̼umù's militia enacted an operation to transport a specific warchest to a particular prison unharmed. The operation was complicated by the militia had access to far less resources than expected. The conflict ended with pitched battle between both forces, which ended in defeat for Odíhg Kàiē̼j̼umù's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Odíhg Kàiē̼j̼umù's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
